Linn Audio has a unique design philosophy regarding crossover design. We abide by the principle that the fewer components the better. All components, no matter how high quality, alter and color the sound, and at worst, add distortion and phase shifts to the signal. This is especially true of crossover components; capacitors and inductors. Most system designers of high-end speakers choose or design random driver components, that may not be good matches for each other, and compensate for these mismatched drivers by the use of massive and complex crossover designs, necessarily requiring many components in the signal path. We believe this philosophy is flawed!

The Model 1600 comes with two separate 150-Watt wireless receivers for each speaker. The transmitter will send the music at 5.8 GHz to the wireless receivers up to 200 feet. You will enjoy true CD quality with uncompressed digital wireless audio.
Each receiver has a mono speaker amplifier built in and connects directly to any passive loudspeaker. The built-in amplifiers deliver the efficiency of conventional class-D amplifiers while at the same time delivering far lower audio distortion. Each wireless receiver measures only 5 x 3.5 x 2 inches and can easily be mounted to a speaker.
